ENDING NARRATIVE AND SLIDES

 (V.O)

Bennett College eventually closed it’s doors in the fall of 1976. The dean of the college, Dr. Jane Shore, claimed that due to financial reasons the school couldn’t compete with other ivy league schools.

In June of 1977, Bennett College was in the headlines again when NY state police filed charges against former professor, Nancy Augusta. Citing that while teaching history at the elaborate all girl school, Professor Augusta mentally and physically tortured several students leading to the eventual deaths of 38 girls in the 15 years she was employed at the school.

In August of 1977, the story took another turn as Professor Augusta committed suicide while in her cell at the Millbrook NY police barracks. In the following years there have been 9 unexplained and sudden deaths in the same cell that her body was found.

Title: 8-BALL

FADE IN
INT: NEW YORK FANCY APARTMENT
We see gold handles of a mohogany door turn as JEFFREY, a well dressed man in his 40’s, walks in.

JEFFREY enters into what looks like an expensive apartment and loosens his tie as he walks through a long hallway. As he makes his way through the halllway, we see a woman in red, ELZA, crossing behind him.

INT: BILLIARD ROOM
JEFFREY passes the pool table where the game is waiting to be played. He opens it up with a great shot. With satisfaction on his face he walks over to the bar and pours himself a drink.

Suddenly he sees ELZA standing by the pool table. She is wearing a sleek long red dress.

JEFFREY
You really should get some sleep my darling.

ELZA does not move. She looks upset.
JEFFREY goes over to kiss her. She turns away.

ELZA
It’s 3 AM.

JEFFREY
Precisely

ELZA
Where were you?

JEFFREY
Making money honey. The stock market never sleeps, you know that. When its night time here, its morning in Hong Kong. Someone has to pay for all these expensive shoes and dresses my dear.

ELZA holds up what looks like a dark hair strand.

ELZA
What is this?

JEFFREY is looking at the hair.

JEFFREY
I give up, what is it?

ELZA
I found it in our bed.

JEFFREY
Then it’s probably our cleaning lady’s.

ELZA
Anna is a blonde.

JEFFREY
C’mon honey, then it must be mine. Alright.

JEFFREY takes the hair and tries it on his head. It is obviously much longer than his. Elza is in disbelief.

JEFFREY
Now can we go to bed. Lets talk about it in the morning.

ELZA
I’m leaving

JEFFREY
Honey, I love you, alright. It’s nothing, lets go to bed, I’ve got an early breakfast meeting.

ELZA
I mean it. I’ve had enough; I’m leaving.
ELZA turns to leave.

JEFFREY
Actually no, you’re not!

JEFFREY crabs ELZA’S hand. She pulls it away.
ELZAS walks away, only to stop at the pool table, where she picks up the 8-ball and throws it to the table.

We see JEFFREY standing there disappointed. We hear the keys being dropped on the table as she is leaving.

editing my portfolio

I edited a couple pics in my portfolio. The first was a vector drawing of a gray alien that I did in Illustrator. I wanted to accentuate the eyes, so I added a bit of color and also toned down the face a bit.

The second edit I did was to my house composition. I have been doing some work digging up old photos for my final project and I wanted to re-create the look of an old photo. I used the hue and saturation and messed around with the gain some and I think I accomplished what I was after.

Collaborating on project

I hate people! I like to sit in my room and work in the middle of the night by myself! I do not like people!

Only kidding, although I have been working steadily by my lonesome or with my eldest son, who also does film and graphics etc., I am quite accustomed to working with others on projects. I owned the recording studio and worked with so many people on various projects that I had to either collaborate or starve, which will humble a person remarkably fast. The team I am on, seems to be a pretty talented bunch. Two girls that are into music, which I can relate to as I produced hip hop music for almost 20 years. Hopefully we can figure out not only a project pretty quickly but a means of distributing files and workload. I am quite open to any and all aspects of the project regardless of what they may be. I do graphics, film, editing, sound, writing (just had a short story publishd for the second time) as well as animation. I use final cut, cs6,various 3d modeling apps, final draft, and have a soundproof editing suite with 2 seperate dual monitored mac workstations. I have a few different cameras, canon xlh1a with 3 different lenses, a sony vx1000 3 chip sd cam as well as a canon sd handi cam. Like I said, I am ready and open for anything. My only downfall is I will be away from the 14th to the 25th of November but will have the macbook with me so will be able to do any work while away short of shooting.

Bennett College Project

I shot everything last weekend, and am wrapping up all post work today. I will post a sneak peak in a little bit........
